[Appointment period: each for twelve months]
Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Joint research centre for primary health care”. They will be required to:
(a) design, build and maintain the cross-platform mobile application (for clients) and web-based management portal (for professionals) from prototype to pilot deployment;
(b) collaborate with the research team to build template editors and data pipelines that configure and translate intervention library into automated, rules-based care workflows;
(c) integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted features (e.g. intelligent Q&A, content retrieval, note summarisation, safe escalation, etc.) with strict privacy and security guardrails;
(d) manage system data, ensure secure data storage and develop tools for the research team to monitor usage and extract outcomes; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Research Associate post should have a master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or other related disciplines or a good honours degree in one of the said disciplines with at least three years of research/relevant work experience.
Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification.
Applicants should also have:
(a) a proven track record in full-stack development, with the ability to architect, ship and operate production systems;
(b) proficiency in cross-platform mobile (e.g. Flutter or React Native) and web/backend frameworks (e.g. Node.js or Python, React.js/Next.js);
(c) experience in integrating AI models/Large Language Models (LLMs) (e.g. OpenAI Application Programming Interface (API), LangChain), cloud services (Microsoft Azure/Amazon Web Services (AWS), API design (Representational State Transfer (REST)/GraphQL) and databases (Structured Query Language (SQL); Not only Structured Query Language (NoSQL) a plus);
(d) experience in HealthTech intervention; and
(e) strong communication skills in English.
Preference will be given to those with proficiency in Cantonese.
