[Appointment period: each for twelve months]

Duties 

The appointees will be required to:

(a)    engage in teaching and learning activities for the Master of Science in Innovative Multimedia Entertainment (MScIME) programme including the following subjects:

•    Creative Programming for Designers and Artists
•    Procedural Content Generation and AI in Games
•    AI Tools for Creative Process and Transmedia
•    Digital Storytelling for Transmedia
•    Virtual and Augmented Reality
•    Game Design and Development
•    Physical Computing
•    Interactive Toys, Robots and Engaging Entertainment Products
•    Fundamentals of Game and Film Lighting
•    Introduction to Real-Time Rendering
•    Introduction to Rigging and Technical Animation

(b)    supervise student projects and develop teaching materials;

(c)    assess students’ achievement and academic performance;

(d)    provide academic advice for students, assess student achievement and academic performance and promote student works;

(e)    contribute to student admission exercises and other programme administrative tasks; 

(f)    coordinate with academic and non-academic departments and clients/industrial partners for various collaborative initiatives;

(g)    contribute to the academic programme promotion activities such as summer camps and collaborative workshops; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or his delegates.
Working on irregular hours including weekday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, as well as travelling outside Hong Kong may be required. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a)    have a master’s degree in related disciplines plus at least one year of post-qualification tertiary teaching experience and professional practice experience;

(b)    possess the following skills and experience in:
•    Python, JavaScript, Processing for creative coding;
•    Unity, Unreal Engine;
•    AI concepts and tools;
•    Narrative theory and digital media;
•    3D modeling and spatial design;
•    Arduino;
•    Unity or Unreal Engine;
•    Maya, Blender;
•    virtual character design, modelling, rigging and motion capture; and
•    Adobe Creative Cloud packages.

(c)    have demonstrated promise of a high level of competence in teaching and carrying out subject administration responsibilities; and

(d)    have a high level of spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Preference will be given to those with a doctoral degree or pursuing a doctoral degree in related disciplines.

Applicants should submit an updated CV and a brief teaching statement specifying the subjects they are capable of teaching and the technical skills they possess.
