Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide administrative support for the PolyU Academy for Artificial Intelligence (PAAI) and its constituent research units (to be established);
(b) plan, develop and implement the marketing strategy and promotional activities/events including but not limited to organisation and coordination of scholarly events, planning and production of marketing materials and websites maintenance, etc.;
(c) administer human resources related matters including but not limited to appointment-related issues, manpower planning and any staffing matters, etc.;
(d) handle finance-related matters including but not limited to accounting management, inventory management and overall financial planning and budget management, etc.;
(e) provide secretarial support for meetings, committees and special projects, including compiling reports, preparing documents and ensuring timely follow-up on action items;
(f) liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication on administrative and operational matters; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of PAAI or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree with at least five years of relevant post-qualification work experience;
(b) strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously;
(c) excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail;
(d) outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team;
(e) good computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Chinese word processing; and
(f) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua.
Preference will be given to those with relevant work experience in organisational marketing.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment at a lower level.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
