[Appointment period: six months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research projects - “How migration impacts well-being: A comprehensive review” and/or “Longitudinal relationship between neighbourhood environment, healthy lifestyle and subjective well-being”.  The projects focus on investigating the potential social and environmental determinants of migrants’ wellbeing.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    conduct quantitative data analysis, including multilevel modeling, SEM etc. using programming platforms such as R or Python;

(b)    conduct literature review;

(c)    assist in designing research tools such as questionnaires;

(d)    provide support to research activities, including data processing, statistical analysis and report preparation; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a master’s degree in Social Sciences, Data Sciences, Geography or other related disciplines;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; 

(c)    be proficient in using programming platforms and statistical software such as R, Python, Mplus or SPSS; and

(d)    have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

Preference will be given to those with experience in conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
