Assistant Registrar

Duties
The appointee will be assigned to the Academic Quality Assurance and Secretariat Section of the Academic Registry and be required to:
(a) coordinate the support for quality assurance (QA) matters;
(b) implement plans for enhancing academic quality assurance at the University;
(c) provide administrative support for the University’s Quality Assurance framework, mechanisms and processes;
(d) coordinate and facilitate processes of Quality Assurance Council (QAC) audits;
(e) coordinate training related to the planning and implementation of Departmental Quality Assurance mechanisms;
(f) lead the Academic Quality Assurance team in coordinating and managing surveys and data analyses;
(g) liaise with internal units and external organisations for benchmarking and sharing best practices;
(h) provide administrative and secretarial support to committees and working groups;
(i) supervise administrative and other supporting staff;
(j) oversee the development and implementation of plans for the University Congregations held in May and November each year;
(k) ensure proper coordination with Faculties/Schools, vendors, supporting units and relevant stakeholders for all required arrangements related to University Congregations;
(l) provide updates, reviews and reports to Senior Management on the progress and outcome of each Congregation session;
(m) prepare and seek approval for the required budget of Congregations; and
(n) perform any other duties as assigned by the Registrar or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree, preferably with a higher degree;
(b) at least eight years of relevant managerial experience in tertiary education;
(c) excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably with fluency in Putonghua;
(d) excellent communication, interpersonal and liaison skills; and
(e) excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
Preference will be given to those who have relevant work experience in academic quality assurance and congregation matters in the higher education sector.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
