Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    conduct research in Fashion and Textile Business as the main duty and actively pursue external research grants, such as General Research Fund, Innovation and Technology Fund and other competitive external fund, as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator;

(b)    provide quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level;

(c)    contribute to the School’s service; and

(d)    perform any other duties as assigned by the designated project leader, Dean of School or their delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a PhD degree in Fashion and Textile Business or related disciplines;

(b)    preferably have at least two years of postdoctoral research experience;

(c)    have solid experience in university teaching and/or excellent record in academic and research achievement in Fashion Business or related areas;

(d)    have high-impact research and publication record in high quality scholarly journals or strong potential to publish in top-tier refereed journals;

(e)    have strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and professional service; and

(f)    have excellent communication skills and be able to use English as the medium of instruction.

Preference will be given to those with strong research orientation, potential to publish in high quality scholarly journals and a good teaching record.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive package including a medical benefits plan and a gratuity payable upon completion of the term which is normally for two years initially, with possibility of extension.
