Project Administrative Assistant

[Appointment period: six to twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties 

The appointee will assist in various projects and academic activities of the Department.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    provide counter services, such as answering phone calls, handling students’ enquiries and greeting guests;

(b)    assist in receiving and dispatching mails and documents within and outside the campus;

(c)    assist in the preparation work for project meetings and post-visit tasks, such as reserving meeting rooms and preparing project documentation;

(d)    provide logistics and operational support to meetings, trainings, conferences and events, such as secondary schools visits or academic visits; 

(e)    provide clerical and logistic support in the daily operation of the Department;

(f)    liaise with different internal and external parties;

(g)    perform manual labour tasks, such as moving small furniture, computing equipment and distilled water bottles; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should: 

(a)    have five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards) and Mathematics; or a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics;

(b)    have basic command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua;

(c)    have some knowledge of computer literacy, including MS Word, and Chinese and English word processing; and

(d)    be attentive to details and able to work independently.
