[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project - “The Lam Woo distinguished social work awards”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    manage and oversee the project to ensure tasks are implemented efficiently, successfully and within the agreed terms of the project;  

(b)    assist in interviews and editorial tasks related to the publication of “oral history research on Lam Woo scholars”; and

(c)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a master’s degree or a good honours degree with three or more years of research/relevant work experience;

(b)    have a strong background or relevant experience in social work;

(c)    have experience in conducting qualitative research;

(d)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Cantonese and Putonghua;

(e)    have good interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills;

(f)    be able to cope with tight working schedules; and 

(g)    be highly self-motivated, a good team player and be able to work independently.

Preference will be given to those with a strong track record of research or publication, as well as working experience in social work education in China.
