Occupational Therapy Assistant

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    perform administrative work such as handling phone enquiry, client registration, record management, inventory management and accounting tasks;

(b)    maintain tidiness of treatment areas at the clinic sites; 

(c)    be responsible for cleansing, sterilisation, safety check and maintenance of the equipment utilised by Occupational Therapists; 

(d)    assist in conducting assessments and deliver treatments to clients at the Tam Wing Fan Rehabilitation Centre (Occupational Therapy) or during home visit / outreach service;

(e)    assist in preparing and operating the rehabilitation aids;

(f)    assist in production of pressure garments, splints and occupational therapy assistive devices;

(g)    assist in conducting education talks and group training activities;

(h)    carry out operational duties according to the safety guidelines of the Tam Wing Fan Rehabilitation Centre (Occupational Therapy), the Unit and the University; and

(i)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work on shift, outside normal office hours and in the weekends.

Qualifications 

Applicants should:

(a)    have an associate degree or above in Health Studies or a discipline related to health care; or five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards) and Mathematics plus at least five years of relevant experience in health care field; or a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics plus at least five years of relevant experience in health care field; 
(b)    have a certificate in Occupational Therapy Assistant; 

(c)    have good computer skills in MS Office applications; 

(d)    have a fair command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese and be able to speak Putonghua; and

(e)    be self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure.

Preference will be given to those who have relevant working experience in a clinic or similar work environment.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
