Duties

The appointee will play an active role in strategic planning that oversees Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office (KTEO) Entrepreneurship (PolyVentures) branding and marketing for advancing the PolyVentures reputation among target stakeholders.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    design and execute brand communications strategies and marketing plans for PolyVentures, as well as result-driven marketing communications campaigns that leverage multiple capabilities to build brand awareness and preference;

(b)    lead marketing communications activities to meet the strategic priorities, through various marketing programmes or initiatives;

(c)    plan and manage all aspects of local and regional marketing to ensure that the PolyVentures’ brand and reputation are optimised amongst target markets and segments;

(d)    oversee the social media presence, create engaging content for various social media platforms, monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and analyse social media analytics to optimise engagement and reach;

(e)    visualise PolyVentures’ goals and strategies by turning them into creative and strategic content in different ways such as presentation, marketing messages, creative articles or videos, etc., for building up the branding of PolyU and engaging various target audiences;

(f)    measure and report all branding campaigns, assess ROI / KPIs, manage relevant marketing budgets, evaluate progress against plan and recommend corrective actions as needed;

(g)    communicate the marketing plan eloquently to the team and internal stakeholders; 

(h)    support competitive benchmarking and provide data-driven insights and best practices for strategic planning;

(i)    ensure all marketing materials and activities are consistent and comply with the KTEO brand guidelines and support the office to provide guidance when appropriate; and

(j)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia or a related discipline;

(b)    have a good knowledge of technology, innovation, or entrepreneurship related promotion with at least eight years of solid relevant marketing and promotion experience at the supervisory level;

(c)    have a good relationship or connection with industrial partners, government, private organisations, universities and research institutions, incubators and accelerators, especially with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), Cyberport and other incubators in the Greater Bay Area;

(d)    have good computer literacy, and a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua;

(e)    have a positive can-do attitude, be creative, highly independent and motivated; and

(f)    be able to work under pressure and meet tight schedules with project management capability.

Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate good analytical, marketing and leadership skills.  

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. 

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
