Project Associate / Project Assistant

[Appointment period: twenty-four months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties 

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project - “New Phase of Development: Enhancing Teaching and Learning of DSR-Chinese with GenAI”.  He/She will be required to: 

(a)    assist in designing research tools such as questionnaires and experimental materials;

(b)    conduct data collection/extraction, data processing and data analysis;

(c)    assist in technology-enhanced Chinese language teaching and learning with special reference to the use of GenAI;

(d)    assist in production of multi-media learning and teaching materials;

(e)    liaise with project collaborators and related parties; 

(f)    assist in general management and coordination of the project; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Project Associate post should have a master’s degree in Chinese, Chinese Linguistics, Translation or a related discipline or a good honours degree in one of the said disciplines with three or more years of relevant work experience.

Applicants for the Project Assistant post should have an honours degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification with relevant work experience.

For both posts, applicants should also:

(a)    have good command of both written and spoken Chinese including Putonghua;

(b)    have good computer skills, knowledge of elearning and AI-platforms, Excel, PPT, and SPSS;

(c)    have a high level of self-motivation and strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; and

(d)    be a good team player and able to work independently.
