Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    engage in a full range of activities related to teaching and learning in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations and Quality Management, including preparing and developing materials, designing teaching and assessment strategies, delivering teaching in settings appropriate for the objective of learning, interacting with and motivating students, and assessing the performance of and giving feedback to students;

(b)    contribute to programme/curriculum design, development and administration, and engage actively in scholarly activities; 

(c)    provide leadership, co-ordination and supervision in activities pertaining to the operation of academic programme(s) and/or relevant professional services;

(d)    provide support for academic and departmental affairs; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of the Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline plus not less than six years of post-qualification tertiary teaching experience and/or relevant professional, practical, industrial experience;

(b)    high level of proficiency in teaching, and have shown potential for making substantial contributions in curriculum and pedagogy development as well as subject and programme management (and professional service if applicable); 

(c)    strong commitment to excellence in teaching; and

(d)    an excellent command of English and good communication skills.

Preference will be given to those with relevant teaching experience in tertiary institutions and experience in promoting teaching quality.

Applicants with less experience will be considered for appointment as Teaching Fellow.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
