Programme Manager / Assistant Programme Manager (two posts)

Duties

The appointees will be responsible for the overall implementation of a new innovation programme, Smart Teens Actions Project (“the project”) funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (“the Trust”). The project targets emerging youth leaders, enabling them to form action teams in serving digitally disadvantaged groups for three years.  They will be required to: 

(a)    manage overall execution of the project;

(b)    monitor and follow up implementation plan of the youth-led teams including plan setting and assessment of project’s progresses;

(c)    prepare and submit periodic operation and financial reports to the Trust for disbursement of payments and claims to the youth-led teams;

(d)    provide tailored support and training to each of the youth-led teams and consolidate their achievements into regular management reports in accordance with the project's pledges and milestones;

(e)    assist the teams to build their long-term business capacity and robust team structures; 

(f)    handle all marketing and communication works of the project including sharing of impact stories with media and the community;

(g)    administer a designated fund for new youth-led teams or scale up of proven solutions for the project;

(h)    work closely with cross-sectoral stakeholders to drive collaboration; and

(i)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a recognised degree or above in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Design, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant disciplines preferably with knowledge of robust science, engineering and/or digital technology;

(b)    have at least five years of solid supervisory experience in industry leading corporations or organisations in entrepreneurship ecosystem for incubation, business collaboration and financial support;
(c)    have excellent project management and problem-solving skills, and a strong drive for success to ensure high quality result;

(d)    have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience in handling all levels of stakeholders including donors, government officials, service users, youth, disadvantaged groups, social workers and IT specialists, etc.;

(e)    have experience in managing a project team with least supervision;

(f)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage; and

(g)    be able to multi-task, work under pressure and independently.

Preference will be given to those with knowledge of technology and industry insights in the domains of social services, sustainability, digital or mobile application development.  

Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Programme Manager.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. 

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
