Assistant Officer

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a)    provide administrative support for the running of Work-Integrated Education activities as well as assisting in the coordination of alumni affairs and internationalisation initiatives for the School;

(b)    support the administration of student internship related activities including but not limited to preparing and coordinating of internship contracts, answering students’ queries related to statutory Minimum Wage Ordinance, career guidance and curating exhibitions, etc.;

(c)    maintain effective databases for student internships, cooperative projects, alumni and industrial partners in an efficient and professional manner;

(d)    perform operational duties concerning the organisation of events such as registration, communication with delegates, conducting briefing and training to the student volunteers, updating the website information, etc.;

(e)    liaise with internal and external parties; and

(f)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of the School or his delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a)    have a recognised degree preferably in Communication, Cultural Studies, Design or  related disciplines with at least three years of post-qualification working experience preferably gained in tertiary education institutions or sizeable organisations;

(b)    have good computer literacy including MS Excel and Google Workspace;

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese and comprehension skills; 

(d)    have good administration, interpersonal and communication skills;

(e)    have an outgoing personality and passion for working for young people (including local and international students) in career guidance; and

(f)    be able to work independently.

Preference with be given to those with design knowledge.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
