Scientific Officer (Quality Control)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    monitor the quality control section to ensure strict compliance with the required procedures and requirements;

(b)    develop, implement and monitor the quality control procedures in sampling, materials, test methods, finished products, equipment, etc.;

(c)    ensure good calibration, validation, qualification and maintenance of quality control premises and equipment;

(d)    manage purchasing activities and ensure good quality according to the specifications;

(e)    ensure good documentation in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP);

(f)    participate in change control, deviation, supplier evaluation, validation and/or other quality-related activities;

(g)    conduct training in the quality control section including placement of students; and

(h)    perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should:

(a)    have a doctoral degree in Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, Regenerative Medicines, Tissue Engineering or other related areas;

(b)    have at least five years’ relevant work experience in the processing or quality control of cells, genes and/or tissue engineered products; 

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua; and

(d)    be able to work independently and be a good team player.

Preference will be given to those who have work experience in GMP manufacturing or quality control of advanced therapy products.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
