Scientific Officer (Production)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    monitor the production section to ensure strict compliance with the required procedures and requirements;

(b)    design and implement the production line as well as setting up various standards and programmes of the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facilities;

(c)    develop and implement production procedures according to the relevant documentation and standard operating procedures;

(d)    ensure good calibration, validation, qualification and maintenance of production premises and equipment;

(e)    report all production deviations for investigation and evaluation to the quality assurance section;

(f)    manage purchasing activities of starting materials, packaging materials and consumables for manufacturing and ensure their good quality;

(g)    ensure good documentation practice in compliance with GMP;

(h)    conduct training in the production section including placement of students; and

(i)    perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department or his/her delegates. 

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should:

(a)    have a doctoral degree in Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, Regenerative Medicines, Tissue Engineering or other related areas;

(b)    have at least five years’ relevant work experience in the processing or quality control of cells, genes and/or tissue engineered products; 

(c)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua; and

(d)    be able to work independently and be a good team player.

Preference will be given to those who have work experience in GMP manufacturing or quality control of advanced therapy products.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
