Research Assistant (Full-time / Part-time) (two posts)

[Appointment period: each for twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties 

The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Effectiveness of Tai Chi and acupuncture in the prophylaxes of episodic migraine and the analysis of microstructural white matter alterations: a non-inferiority single-blind randomized controlled trial”.  They will be required to:

(a)    liaise with different collaborators (e.g. non-governmental organisations and clinics) regarding the development, implementation and evaluation of the projects;

(b)    coordinate logistics issues for the project implementation, including workshops, interviews, questionnaire collection, etc.;

(c)    assist in participant recruitment, data collection and data entry;

(d)    conduct literature review, data management and data analysis;

(e)    assist in the preparation proposals, reports, manuscripts and presentation materials;

(f)    assist in MRI and TCD scanning and safety monitory; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have an honours degree in Nursing, Public Health, Medical Imaging, Radiology Epidemiology, Social Work, Psychology or other health-related disciplines or an equivalent qualification;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese;

(c)    be familiar with SPSS, EndNote and other Microsoft Office software;

(d)    have good interpersonal and communication skills; and

(e)    be responsible and able to work independently with a strong sense of self-motivation.

Conditions of Service

For full-time appointments, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  

For part-time appointments, the remuneration rate is HK$122 per hour.
