[Appointment period: two months]

Duties 

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project - “Virtual resources on global learning to prepare students for non-local service experiences”.  He/She will be required to: 

(a) inform the development of meaningful and innovative non-local service-learning and leadership projects in the Philippines;

(b) assist in developing teaching materials in global and cross-cultural contexts, especially with respect to PolyU’s service-learning base in the Philippines; and

(c) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

The appointee will be required to travel outside Hong Kong and work on irregular hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a doctoral degree with at least three years of postdoctoral research experience or equivalent qualifications and experience;

(b) have a good knowledge of the Philippines’s community;

(c) have a high level of fluency in English and Filipino;

(d) have good interpersonal and communication skills; and

(e) be highly motivated and positive.

Preference will be given to those with substantial working experience in academic service-learning/civic education in tertiary education sector.
