Postdoctoral Fellow

[Appointment period: twelve months]

Duties 

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “A prospective study of newly-arrived immigrant adolescents from Mainland China to Hong Kong: The way to thrive”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis;

(b)    write reports and prepare manuscripts;

(c)    liaise with different organisations for the recruitment of participants;

(d)    conduct research under the supervision of the principal investigator; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should:

(a)    have a doctoral degree, preferably in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Sociology or other social science related disciplines and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua; 

(c)    have good knowledge of using statistical software such as SPSS, Mplus, R or AMOS to conduct statistical analysis such as SEM, HLM, PP-LGM, LGMM or RI-CLPM;

(d)    have research interests in youth development, family studies and evaluation, etc.; 

(e)    have a strong sense of responsibility and good interpersonal skills; and

(f)    be a good team player and able to work independently.
