Postdoctoral Fellow (three posts)

[Appointment period: twenty-four to thirty-six months]

Duties 

The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Remote sensing of urban climate, ecosystem and environment”.  

Qualifications

Applicants should have a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification in Remote Sensing, GISci, Computer Science, Statistics, Geography, Urban Planning, Geoscience, Environmental Science, Landscape Ecology, Meteorology and Climatology, Natural Resources, Agricultural, Forest Engineering or a related field and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.

Applicants should also have:

(a)    background in remote sensing image analysis of large amount of and experience in algorithms development and refinement;

(b)    a good command of both written and spoken English; and

(c)    at least one first-authored publication.

Preference will be given to those with:

(a)    strong background in quantitative methods, statistics, computer science, geospatial data analysis and modeling, AI and machine learning;

(b)    experience in AI and geospatial computer version algorithms;

(c)    advanced skills in scientific computing with Python and R;

(d)    experience in high-performance and cloud computing for remote sensing data processing;

(e)    the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary research team; and 

(f)    strong publication record.
