Project Associate / Project Assistant

[Appointment period: twenty-four months]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the administration work of the projects in the Department of Building and Real Estate.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    assist in the planning and implementation of programmes, seminars, conferences, consultancy projects / research to promote the focus areas of the project;

(b)    coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to implement executive training programmes,  consultancy projects, research for the major clients in Hong Kong and Mainland China;

(c)    provide support to run executive training programmes and consultancy projects, and to administer research programmes;

(d)    work with trainers and guest speakers proactively on programme development to ensure a high standard of quality;

(e)    handle the operation of the eLearning platform to maintain high user satisfaction and to assist in the online course to reach the local, GBA and global participants; 

(f)    update website and social media channels;

(g)    assist in preparing proposals, budgets and reports;

(h)    support the project leader in running the Centre for Infrastructure Delivery;

(i)    co-ordinate the Research Assessment Exercise 2026 and the mock exercise; and

(j)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

The appointee will be required to work outside normal office hour when needed.  Occasional travel outside Hong Kong may also be required.

Qualifications

Applicants for the Project Associate post should have a good honours degree in Business, Communication, Construction or a science-related discipline with three or more years of research / relevant work experience. 

Applicants for the Project Assistant post should have an honours degree in the afore-mentioned disciplines or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants should also:

(a)    have good knowledge of online courses, with prior experience in eLearning platform being an advantage;

(b)    have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua;

(c)    be a good team player with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and be able to work under tight schedules; and

(d)    have strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
