Senior Project Officer (Contracts Management and Cost Assurance)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    assist in contractual administration for capital and alterations and additions projects;

(b)    prepare estimates as well as monitor and control works budget;

(c)    interpret the requirements from the perspective of users and supporting departments/units and transform them into technical briefs and requirements;

(d)    prepare agreements as well as monitor and manage consultants’ work;  

(e)    prepare tender reports and recommendations to the Work Tender Board and other committees for approval;

(f)    provide pre- and post-contract administration including evaluation of variations and interim payment, handling of claims and finalisation of project accounts;

(g)    assist in technical audits and other supporting services;

(h)    supervise subordinates, if any; and

(i)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should have:

(a)    a recognised degree in Construction Economics/Quantity Surveying or related discipline plus five years of relevant work experience; or a diploma in the above-mentioned discipline plus eight years of relevant work experience; 

(b)    a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and

(c)    the ability to work independently.

Preference will be given to those with professional qualifications and experience in consulting firms, and knowledge of Access or other relational database software, AutoCAD, Revit or similar software.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
