Postdoctoral Fellow

[Appointment period: nine months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Enhancing intergroup relations and promoting social integration: A multicultural acquisition approach”.  The project focuses on incorporating language and cultural learning to facilitate intergroup relations and social integration.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    conduct meta-analysis on social and cross-cultural psychology;

(b)    conduct intensive longitudinal data analysis by using structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling and latent growth curve modeling;

(c)    provide support to research activities of other projects; and

(d)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have a doctoral degree in Psychology or other related disciplines or an equivalent qualification and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Cantonese;

(c)    have a solid track record in conducting meta-analysis;

(d)    have proven experience in managing large-scale longitudinal and/or cross-cultural datasets;

(e)    be proficient in using statistical software such as SPSS, R or Mplus;

(f)    have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills; and

(g)    be self-motivated, well-organised, detail-minded and able to multi-task.
