Finance Manager (Financial Management Section)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    support the operation of Financial Management Section, comprising budget, financial accounts, research projects and financial analysis;

(b)    support the financial management of both internally-funded and externally-funded research activities and research projects of the University;

(c)    support the financial management of Research Postgraduate Students;

(d)    work closely with other administrative units, e.g. Research and Innovation Office and Graduate School, to facilitate the research development of the University;

(e)    prepare financial statements, Common Data Collection Format (CDCF) returns and any other financial/management reporting as required by University Grant Council, external funding bodies and the Management;

(f)    provide financial support and advice to the units on the funding regulations of various funding bodies as well as various UGC-funded and non-UGC-funded research activities;

(g)    support the enhancement and development of various financial systems, including Budget Management System and Financial Information Platform; and

(h)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines, plus a professional accounting qualification or equivalent;

(b)    at least five years post-qualification specialist and supervisory experience in accounting, auditing or other related fields;

(c)    proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;

(d)    a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and

(e)    strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and leadership skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
