Research Assistant (Full-time/Part-time) (several posts)

Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Auxiliary phonetic symbols and Cantonese tone learning: An experimental study using behavioral and EEG measures”. They will be required to:
(a) conduct literature review;
(b) obtain ethics approval;
(c) recruit and test study participants;
(d) assist in data analysis and transcription;
(e) participate in writing and publishing scientific papers;
(f) manage undergraduate student helpers who are assigned to the project; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have an honours degree and preferably a master’s degree in Linguistics, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Speech and Hearing Sciences or equivalent qualifications;
(b) be a native or near-native speaker of Mandarin or Cantonese;
(c) be highly proficient in English;
(d) have strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
(e) have experience in using EEG or other neuroimaging methods, E-Prime or Matlab to conduct experiments being an advantage.

Conditions of Service
For full-time appointment, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
For part-time appointment, the remuneration rate is HK$122 per hour.
