Research Associate / Research Assistant (Full-time/Part-time)

Duties
The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Exploring the lived experiences of adjusting to early retirement of the older working poor: A longitudinal qualitative study in Hong Kong”. He/She will be required to:
(a) assist in research activities;
(b) collect visual data;
(c) conduct interviews and transcribe interviews into English;
(d) conduct data analysis and dissemination; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Research Associate post should have a master’s degree, preferably in Social Work, Gerontology or other social sciences related disciplines or an equivalent qualification. Applicants should also have experience in conducting qualitative research.
Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have an honours degree, preferably in one of the said disciplines or an equivalent qualification.
Applicants should also have:
(a) experience and/or great interest in social work and/or gerontology;
(b) experience and/or great interest in working with older people; and
(c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese.

Conditions of Service
For full-time appointment, a highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.
For part-time appointment, the remuneration rates are HK$173 per hour for the post of Research Associate and HK$122 per hour for the post of Research Assistant.
