Part-time Project Assistant

Educational Research Centre (ERC)

ERC is a new constituent unit under the recently established Institute for Higher Education Research and Development (IHERD). ERC is charged with the mission to initiate, facilitate and coordinate thematic educational research across the University. It seeks to support academic units and individual colleagues in education research, especially in education research designs and methodologies; and to help secure internal and external supports for these educational research / innovation projects.

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project “Impacts of T&L enhancements on students’ learning experiences and outcomes”. The project is to prepare our students for success in an ever-changing world, assessment plays a key role to provide the valuable insights to the University when designing effective teaching strategies. A battery of validated assessment tools would be used to gauge the impacts of enhancements in latest technologies and pedagogical methods, including but not limited to Generative-AI, AR/VR/XR and flipped learning, on our students’ learning experiences and outcomes. He/She will be required to: 

(a)    conduct data collection through interviews and/or surveys;

(b)    liaise with students and staff from different units;

(c)    assist in implementing various project activities;

(d)    provide logistic and administrative support to the project team; and

(e)    perform any other duties as assigned by the IHERD/ERC Director or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have an honours degree in Social Sciences, Education or a related discipline OR an equivalent qualification;

(b)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(c)    have good computing skills, such as Microsoft Office and online learning tools; 

(d)    have a sense of responsibility;

(e)    be able to work independently;

(f)    have good interpersonal and organisational skills; and

(g)    be a good team player.

Preference will be given to those with experience in conducting surveys and/or interviews.

Conditions of Service

The remuneration rate is HK$122 per hour.
