Training Instructor (two posts)

Duties

The appointees will be required to:

(a)    act as a Technical Knowledge Instructor (TKI) of Airline Transport Pilot’s License (ATPL) to deliver theoretical knowledge to cadet pilots and others for examination purpose in accordance with the current syllabus requirements of Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) / European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA); 

(b)    ensure that trainee training records are completed in a timely and accurate manner;   

(c)    assist in the planning of student activities and practical training;

(d)    prepare progress tests, monitor student progress and act as an internal examiner;

(e)    prepare, maintain and update courseware and training materials to ensure compliance with the current syllabus requirements;

(f)    maintain currency with regard to changes in technology; 

(g)    participate in annual refresher training and professional development as directed by the Chief Training Instructor; 

(h)    assist in the programme and course administration planning; and

(i)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates. 

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a recognised degree or equivalent professional qualification;

(b)    at least five years of aviation experience or aviation training experience, preferably with technical knowledge of ATPL;

(c)    a proven record in instructing aviation training courses preferably as part of a Flight Training Organisation (FTO), or in teaching EASA ATPL technical knowledge subjects; 

(d)    attendance record of a recognised course in instructional techniques;

(e)    effective classroom teaching skills;

(f)    a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and professional service; and

(g)    qualifications which are acceptable by the Flight Standards Division of HKCAD.

Preference will be given to the holders of ATPL or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence issued by a recognised regulatory authority.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
