Assistant Technical Officer

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a) support technical services within different workshops, mainly 3D Printing;

(b) be familiar with the equipment, particularly 3D Printers, and provide instructions/demonstration to the users for the proper use of equipment safely with or without any supervision;

(c) maintain the 3D Printers facilities and working environment in good conditions including daily material replenishment, maintenance, malfunction investigation and repair;

(d) analyse the performance of installed 3D Printers and suggest for best practice; and

(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or his delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a) have a recognised degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines or a higher diploma or an equivalent qualification with at least three years of relevant working experience;

(b) be proficient in production related software such as SolidWorks and Adobe;

(c) have interest in acquiring IT, photography and printing knowledge;

(d) have eagerness to learn and willingness to take up different responsibilities and challenges; and

(e) have strong analytical skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills.

Preference will be given to those with experience in 3D Printing production or related processes.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
